aligner treatment, delivering predictable shade improvement without
extending treatment time.
Case 1:
A 20-year-old female patient sought treatment to improve the colour and overall appearance of her smile. She was particularly unhappy with the uneven shades of her teeth, especially her canines, which appeared darker and more yellow than the rest. Additionally, she disliked the uneven, worn incisal edges.
Orthodontic alignment was first achieved with a 5-month programme of SureSmile aligners. In the final 3 weeks of treatment, the patient used Pola Night 16% carbamide peroxide gel within her aligners, eliminating the need for extra trays or extending treatment time.

Whitening progressed smoothly with little to no sensitivity reported. The patient’s shade improved from Vita A2 (A3 on canines) to OM2 (bleach shade), achieving a consistent, brighter result.
To complete the smile transformation, composite edge bonding was placed on the upper 3-3 teeth. The combination of aligner therapy, whitening, and edge bonding provided a highly aesthetic and satisfying outcome.
Case 2:
A 22 year old female patient presented with concerns about the colour of her teeth, spacing in the lower arch, and the appearance of a small, conical shaped UL2. Her goal was a brighter, more balanced smile with improved tooth proportions.
Orthodontic alignment was completed using a 6 month programme of SureSmile aligners to correct spacing and create adequate space for restoration of the UL2. In the final 3 weeks of aligner treatment, the patient used Pola Night 16% carbamide peroxide gel within her aligners. This allowed whitening to be completed without additional trays or extending overall treatment time.

Whitening progressed predictably with minimal sensitivity. The patient’s shade improved from Vita A3 to OM3, delivering a noticeably brighter and more uniform result.
To complete the smile transformation, composite edge bonding was placed on the upper 2-2 teeth using Venus Pearl composite in shade B1. The combined approach of aligner therapy, whitening, and composite bonding resulted in a harmonious, highly aesthetic outcome aligned with the patient’s expectations.
